#30days Home Organisation Challenge

DAY 3: Today we are continuing our focus on the family fridge! Here's why it's so important to keep your fridge neat and orderly.

  • A well-organised fridge keeps fruit and veggies fresher for longer

  • A clean fridge keeps your family healthy

  • A well-organised fridge gives you more visibility into food levels

  • A clean fridge keeps the fridge working properly

JOURNAL:

When was the last time I felt organised?

What's the best purchase I've made for the kitchen? Why?

TASK:

Refresh your fridge.

Organising your fridge in these few steps:

1. Empty your fridge

2. Map out your fridge, it’s pretty simple! Raw foods on the lowest shelf. Create a snack zone, a drink zone, a produce zone, and a meal prep zone.

3. Store food in reusable containers.

4. Get rid of excess packaging to save space, i.e remove packaging from individually packaged foods like yogurt, string cheese, and drinks.

5. Put new groceries towards the back of the fridge.

6. Add labels to different zones, especially useful for young children.

Top tip: Maintaining the inside of your fridge should become a regular chore like any other, and with the right additions like clear bins and reusable bags, it can become the focal point of your kitchen.

Happiness is a small house, with a big kitchen.
