#30days Home Organisation Challenge

DAY 4: Let’s look at your spice drawer! From the dawn of civilisation, humans sought spices around the world. The seafarers of the ancient lands braved the raging waves and winds to go to distant lands in search of spices and aromatics...

There are many healthcare benefits associated with spices. They have been used in many traditional medicine systems, most notably in the Indian traditional medicine system known as Ayurveda. However, the scientific community has only recently recognised the medicinal benefits of spices. How many spices do you have in your kitchen?

JOURNAL:

  1. Research a few recipes containing new spices, and write about how your family would feel expanding your cooking at home.

  2. If you could eat dinner anywhere in the world, where would it be?

    TASK:

  • Spruce up your spicer drawer!

Organise your spice drawer in a few simple steps:

  • Pull out the spices in your drawer and make sure your drawer is clean and your spices are still fresh and ready to use.

  • When you put your spices back in the drawer, lay them on their side with the label facing up, so you'll be able to see what you have on hand at a glance.

  • Line your spices up in columns, with similar-sized bottles lying top-to-bottom in lines.

The more you know, the more you can create. There’s no end to imagination in the kitchen.
