AWGN Wellness Series

Our monthly Wellness Series of events is a new addition to the 2023 AWGN Event Schedule and proving to be very popular. To kick start the year, Melbourne members enjoyed a walk around Albert Park Lake in beautiful sunny conditions, followed by Sydney members who enjoyed a stunning and energetic walk along the Manly Beach foreshore and up the cliffs past Shelly Beach!

Both January events included a healthy lunch and lively conversation about goals and plans for the year. It was wonderful to connect with our members and enjoy the benefits of a 5km walk surrounded by beautiful views. Thank you to all who attended and looking forward to seeing more of our members at our February and March events.

Though most of us know that physical activity is good for our health, still not many of us make use of exercise benefits. Ofthe the problem these days is that exercise seems to complex with detailed training programs, measuring data, and competition, both with ourselves and others. We’re keeping it simple and enjoying a monthly walk together. You should also incorporate a simple 20-minute walk each day which would do a lot for your overall physical and mental health if done regularly!

Jefferson was right in saying that “waking is the best possible exercise”. It can be done anywhere and anytime without any special equipment. Regular long walks give you more energy, lose weight, and stay healthy and positive!

We live in a fast-paced society. Walking slows us down.
