POSITION: Golf Area Manager

REPORTS TO: Regional Sales Manager - Golf

WORK LOCATION: Victoria 

OVERVIEW: The Golf Area Manager represents Rain Bird in Australia. The Golf Area Manager is responsible for product and service sales growth, as well as gaining market share through local distribution, product promotion, and market development in the Golf industry in Australia. The Golf Area Manager will work independently in Australia and must be willing to travel extensively.

The successful candidate must be technically competent, a sound presenter, results-oriented with solid record of delivering results, highly self-motivated and ideally will have experience in the Golf irrigation or Golf business market in Australia. This position also requires coordination and contact with the Golf Strategic Business Unit in the USA. 


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Profitably growth Rain Bird Golf Sales and Market Share in Australia

• Develop, execute and manage distribution strategy in the market

• Track and evaluate distributor performance and provide regular feedback to them with a goal to develop their business with Rain Bird

• Identify and meet with key market stakeholders, such as: investors, developers, golf course management companies, distributors, contractors, golf course architects/designers, golf course superintendents, specifiers and consultants

• Provide support to golf customers by developing a thorough understanding of their businesses and the industry, identifying their needs and Rain Bird products, services or systems that meet those needs • Work with the Golf SBU to execute marketing activities in the market

• Evaluate local market and provide recommendations on pricing promotions, product introductions, and provide strategic planning recommendations for the market 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

▪ 7+ years’ successful product sales and/or specification experience

▪ Aptitude for quantitative analysis, strategic and tactical thinking, and detailed planning. ▪ Demonstrated ability to drive significant sales and market share growth

▪ Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills

▪ Excellent prioritisation skills and ability to get results

▪ Strong interpersonal, influencing, leadership and presentation skills. Demonstrated success in utilising influencing skills to generate results from people who have no direct reporting relationship to this position ▪ Experience selling through distribution and contractor channels

▪ Desire to grow within the organisation, and willingness to accept new challenges
