Dee’s Journey Through Culture, Landscapes, and Golf in Japan
Q: Dee, what were some of your favourite cultural experiences during your visit to Ibaraki?
A: Ibaraki is a treasure trove of unforgettable experiences! One of my most memorable moments was visiting the Ushiku Daibutsu, a majestic bronze statue of Buddha that stands over 120 meters tall. The serenity and spiritual energy of the place were truly awe-inspiring.
Another unforgettable experience was taking a ride on the Mt. Tsukuba Ropeway), offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. The cable car ride allowed me to appreciate the region's astonishing natural beauty from a unique perspective.
I also had the pleasure of exploring Ibaraki's famous sake range and enjoying a tasting session. Learning about the intricate process of brewing this age-old Japanese rice wine and its diverse flavours was a wonderful experience.
Q: How did you find the balance between golf and cultural immersion during your visit?
A: The beauty lies in its ability to integrate golf with the region's rich cultural experiences. Each day began with a round of golf at one of the premier courses, where I could practice my skills amidst stunning landscapes and challenging layouts. After the game, I would dive into the culture. This perfect blend of golf and cultural immersion is so enriching and memorable.
