A New Chapter of Inspiration: Introducing AWGN VIC Ambassador Fiona Telford
The Australian Women's Golf Network is thrilled to announce Fiona Telford as its newest Ambassador in Victoria. A passionate golfer, a networking trailblazer, and the founder of SportLink Solutions, Fiona is set to inspire countless women in golf and beyond.

Fiona's love affair with golf began nearly 18 years ago, nurtured by her parents, who were keen golfers themselves. Her first venture into the sport was as a member of a golf club, but the constraints of her full-time job limited her play to weekdays, ultimately leading her to explore casual play instead. Her golfing journey took an exciting turn when she joined Golf Victoria as their inaugural Government Relations Manager, a role she cherished for over eight years. It was during this time that Fiona joined AWGN, and her passion for the network has only grown since.
Fiona's involvement with AWGN transcends the pursuit of golf alone; it is about fostering a community of like-minded women who share a passion not just for the sport, but also for success in their careers. Recognising the traditionally male-dominated nature of golf as a networking tool, Fiona sees AWGN as a force for change, nurturing a growing appetite among women to leverage golf as a powerful networking platform.
As an AWGN Ambassador, Fiona's primary goal is to share her inspiring story of how golf can serve as a remarkable platform for women to connect. "Golf doesn't need to be confined to the traditional 18 holes - it can be a clinic, or a few rounds of 3, 6, or 9 holes following a networking lunch," she explains. Fiona aspires to see more women joining golf clubs and discovering the flexibility and inclusivity that AWGN offers.
In addition to her new role as an AWGN Ambassador, Fiona is the founder of SportLink Solutions - a venture that has been close to her heart for quite some time. The mission of her business is to empower sports organisations and non-profits by helping them navigate government processes, secure vital funding, and build strategic governmental relationships. With her extensive experience working on both sides - within government and in the sports arena - Fiona aims to position SportLink Solutions as the premier go-to resource for grant writing services within the sports and non-profit sectors.
As an active and enthusiastic member of AWGN, Fiona has participated in numerous events, ranging from golf days to wine and cheese evenings. Through these events, she has forged great friendships and valuable professional connections.
